I'm excited about this book!  I have tried to journal in the past and it goes well for a couple of days and then I become a slacker.  Mayor Don Ness should be commended to have found the time within his busy work and family life to write this book.  I'm looking forward to his words catapulting me back to memories of our city I may have forgotten.

This blog is in no way meant to be about politics.  Instead, I want to talk about an accomplishment that many of us can enjoy.  Anyone that has the drive and determination to finish putting their thoughts on paper should be recognized for their time, efforts and energy.  If you haven't heard, Don Ness has finished his book "Hillsider" and you are invited to the official book release party.

The event will be held on starting at 6:00p on Sunday, Sept 27 at the Mitchell Auditorium at The College of St Scholastica. What can you expect?  The night will start with Don's bother Jamie and the band The Boomchucks (with Brad Nelson) playing and also releasing their new album.  What a memorable night for the Ness Family.

At 7:00p, Don will read some of my favorite essays and be available to sign books while the music continues. During Don's reading he will share old pictures and videos that will be a once-in-a-lifetime viewing.

Come help celebrate the book release and show appreciation for a job well done! I'm sure Mayor Don Ness and his family will appreciate your time and attendance.  (and if you buy a book!)  Feel free to bring friends to the event!
