Vehicle and foot traffic on Park Point will be done to one lane and one side of the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth on Thursday, June 9 to complete maintenance.  As tourism picks up for the summer and with the anticipation of Grandma's Marathon next weekend, this is the best time to "get r' done"!

If you recall the Bridge begin operating under "summer hours" at the end of May.  Just as natives of Duluth are getting use to the new schedule, they will add planned maintenance to the mix.

They plan to do general maintenance, starting at 9am, after most of the daily commuters have left for work.  They plan to  pressure wash the Lift Bridge to remove rust and grime.  They are hoping to be done by 3pm, which means commuters shouldn't be affected on the way home, that is if there isn't any weather or equipment issues. During this work the Bridge will be reduced to one lane.  Please watch signals controlling the direction and who will have the right of way across the Bridge.  Locals know what "being bridged" means, motorists crossing the Bridge should plan to be "bridged" a little longer during the maintenance.
