The baseball season in underway and next Monday the Minnesota Twins will have their home opener.  While everyone will be excited to see the team play, another great experience is trying the new food options at Target Field.

The Minnesota Twins have announced several new additions to the 2016 menu, including the addition of Pizza Lucé, who will be serving a wide variety of pizza, and Red Cow, which will feature their award-winning Turkey Burger.

As a pretzel lover, I'm excited for the new Hot Pretzel Bites & Brews cart, located by Section 101.  They will serve 3 varieties, including pretzel bites seasoned and topped with a rich beef gravy and then sprinkled with Monterey jack cheese.  There are also pretzel bites finished with macerated berries, a Nutella sauce and a dollop of fresh whipped cream, or you can try pretzel bites covered in Summit beer cheese sauce, topped with candied bacon and dusted with a hint of cayenne pepper.

You definitely won't go hungry at Target Field, with additional new offerings to include:

  •  A true Loon Café experience (portable near Section 101) that will include a pair of signature items: Pecos River Red Chili (topped with sour cream, green onions and shredded cheese, and served with a side of Texas toast) and the Grape Ape, a signature cocktail featuring Pinnacle Citron and Buddy’s Grape Soda.
  • Hrbek’s (Section 114/Gate 14) will feature a new signature drink – the Buffalo Chicken Bloody Mary, which boasts a chicken wing, celery, blue cheese, cheddar cheese, a pepperoni stick, a pepperoncini and an olive. The drink can be upgraded with the addition of a burger slider.
  • Senor Smokes (Sections 105 and 205) will now serve two types of burritos by local favorite Barrio – a vegetarian option and one featuring barbacoa.
  • Northshore Creamery (Sections 109, 118, 126, 131, 205, 219, 232 and K) will now offer Izzy’s Soft Serve.
  • Izzabella! Gelato by Izzy’s will be available near Sections 119 and 202.
  • Hot Indian Foods (Section 120) added a Mango Lassi – a refreshing yogurt-based drink, complete with fresh mangoes and spices.

Nobody will hold it against you if you just want a hot dog and a beer, but why not join me this year on my quest to be a little more adventurous when eating at the ballpark.  I'll see you at Hrbek's!
