Little Big Town will take the Las Vegas stage at the 47th annual ACM Awards with a song and a message. By performing a song called ‘Here’s Hope’ on the April 1 CBS telecast, they’ll be helping to end child hunger.

The performance is part of the ACM Lifting Lives campaign, which teamed up with Hunter Hayes and ConAgra Foods for the Child Hunger Ends Here message, designed to shed light on the problem of child hunger in America.

“What I didn’t realize – and what most people may not know – is that child hunger is not a faraway problem; it’s a problem right here in our own backyards,” Hayes said. More than one in five children in America do not know where their next meal is coming from — and when.

Hayes originally wrote the song, and it was recorded by Jewel, Owl City and Jay Sean. Little Big Town was chosen to bring attention to the cause at the 2012 ACM Awards. Until August, fans of these acts — or anyone interested in stopping child hunger — can help by purchasing specially-marked packages of select ConAgra Foods brands, like Banquet, Chef Boyardee, Healthy Choice, Hunt’s, Marie Callender’s, Manwich, Orville Redenbacher’s, Peter Pan and Snack Pack. Then, visit the Child Hunger Ends Here website and enter the eight-digit code. For each code entered through August 2012, the equivalent of one meal will be donated to Feeding America, and you’ll receive a free download of ‘Here’s Hope.’

Who doesn’t want to be a hero / Or lend a hand for helping out / Some things we can never change / But hunger’s something we can turn around / Here’s Hope,” Jewel sings in her version.

This is the fourth ACM Lifting Lives performance. In the past, Toby Keith and Darius Rucker have performed for Stand Up to Cancer and Vanderbilt Kennedy Center respectively. Rucker will also be hosting this year’s Celebrity Golf Classic.
