Little Big Town have been nominated for a special trophy at the upcoming 2016 Billboard Music Awards: The country quartet is one of five finalists for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.

LBT are up for the Chart Achievement Award thanks to the success of their massive single "Girl Crush" -- specifically, because that song set the record for most weeks spent at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart by a group of at least three members. "Girl Crush" spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on that chart, besting the Browns' "The Three Bells," which spent 10 weeks at the top in 1959.

Also competing for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award are Meghan Trainor, the Weeknd, Drake and Rihanna; fans can vote for their pick on Billboard's official website.

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena on May 22. LBT are also in the running for the Top Country Song trophy.

Soon after its 2014 release, "Girl Crush" showed signs of potential success, boasting the most radio adds. Though “Girl Crush” dealt with some controversy in the spring of 2015, it wasn’t widespread, and perhaps even helped generate more attention to song. Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey penned the tune, and when LBT members Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman heard it, they immediately wanted to record it.

“I knew as soon as I heard the hook of the first chorus that we had to have this song,” Fairchild recalls. “I’d never heard a jealousy song written like this. It’s definitely one of the best songs I’ve ever heard, and to get to sing it every night is a gift."
