Another week, another town in the spot light.  This week my challenge given to me was to write a song about Solon Springs.

Luckily, I've spent a little time in Solon Springs and had something to go off of.  Here you go:

TO THIS DAY WHEN I PASS THAT TOWN,

HEADING HOME GOING NORTHBOUND,

I REMEMBER THAT DAY THAT I SPENT

IN SOLON BUMMING AROUND

IT WAS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN SUMMER AND SPRING

JUST A WEEK BEFORE I GOT THIS RING

ONE LAST NIGHT AS A FREE MAN

HANGING OUT WITH A FRIEND

WE WERE DRIVING ALL AROUND THE LAKE

DRINKING BEER AND GRILLING STEAKS

WATCHING THE BASEBALL GAME DOWNTOWN

IN SOLON SPRINGS…

THROWING DARTS IN THE NEIGHBORS GARAGE,

DRINKING WHISKEY ALL NIGHT LONG,

OH WHAT A MISTAKE,  OH HOW WRONG,

SHOULD HAVE FELT THAT HANGOVER…

WHEN I THINK ABOUT SOLON SPRINGS,

I THINK ABOUT K.D’S

I THINK ABOUT THE VILLAGE PUMP

AND OLE’S IGA

FUNNY HOW A LITTLE TOWN,

MAKES SUCH A MEMORY,

LIKE A PLACE THAT YOU JUST NEED TO SEE...

SOLON SPRINGS

THEY GOT FISHING, GOLFING, AND A DAIRY QUEEN

WHAT ELSE COULD SOLON NEED?

LUCIOUS WOODS MUSIC DOWNTOWN

PEOPLE COME FROM ALL AROUND

STOP BY WHEN YOU HAVE A CHANCE

HAVE A DRINK, AND SPEND SOME CASH

IF YOU COME ONCE I BET

YOU’LL COME BACK AGAIN.
