Leif Erickson Viking Ship to be Moved for Repairs and Restoration Thursday July 11th

The Leif Erickson Viking ship that is currently in Leif Erickson park will be lifted by crane and moved this Thursday to the City of Duluth's Park and Recreation building.  There it will undergo more restoration and repairs.  From that point it will be moved to it's permanent location, which has yet to be decided.

Superior Wisconsin company Viant Crane has donated it's machinery and rescources to move the large ship.  It will be loaded by crane onto a semi truck from the park, then along London road and transported to the Parks & Rec building near 40th Avenue West.
