If you have any Kellogg’s® Eggo® Nutri-Grain® Whole Wheat Waffles in your house, you'll want to check the box because 10,000 cases of these types of waffles are being recalled and both Minnesota and Wisconsin are included in the recall.

This is only for Kellog's® Eggo® Nutri-Grain® Whole Wheat Waffles, no other Eggo products are included.  The reason for the recall is because the waffles in question have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

According to the press release, Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

Thus far there have been no reports of illness, but the company is being proactive.  Below is how you can check to see if you have a potentially contaminated box of waffles.
