If you want to learn to hunt turkeys, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has a great opportunity coming this spring.

According to the DNR, both youth and adults can learn to hunt turkeys this April with experienced volunteers who will cover safe hunting techniques, how to call-in turkeys, hunting tactics and field dressing a bird.

The deadline to apply is Monday, February 12.  The hunts will be held Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22, and they are expected to provide opportunities to access locations that may otherwise be closed to hunting.

A pre-hunt orientation is required and all participants will need to have a valid firearms safety certificate or its equivalent. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
