The little league team from Lakeside in Duluth, MN fell short of advancing to the Jr. Little League World Series, but their accomplishment on finishing third is quite and achievment.  There are over 600 teams in the Midwest region and placing 3rd is nothing to scoff at.A friend of mine, Gregg Velander, has been keeping me in the loop on how the team is doing.  His son Taylor is a team member.  He had this to say this morning:

I would like to thank everyone who cheered for our Duluth Junior Lake Park baseball team.  We ended up taking third in the tournament, and that in itself is something these young men will remember for the rest of their lives.  In the central region there are more than 600 other teams.  The best thing I will remember is that they really played as one.  There was no relying on one of two people to make this happen.  They represented the city of Duluth well.

Nice job guys, we are proud of you.
