Kix Brooks is transitioning into the television industry with a new show on the Food Network.

The country singer, one half of the duo Brooks & Dunn, has already tried his hand at acting and hosting his own radio show, and he's ventured into the wine business with Arrington Vineyards, his winery in Arrington, Tenn.

Brooks has been filming the pilot for the new show, 'Steakout,' which will follow him around the country as he tests classic and community steakhouses for their food as well as their unique personalities.

“There’s not really a good steak show out there, and, of course, steak and wine go good together,” Brooks tells the Tennesseean. “Steakhouses in the community sort of speak to the personality. Every small town and big town have their steakhouse, and they have their own personalities.”

He hopes to expand Arrington Vineyards with the addition of a steakhouse, so Brooks says he sees the show as a form of personal research for his potential business plan.

“This is kind of a reconnaissance show, I think, to go find things that I really like but also explore little communities around the country."

An air date for 'Steakout' has not been set.
