15 Kids Who’d Do Anything To Get Off Santa’s Lap

Kids scared of Santa

One of the best parts about the holiday season is when Santa comes to town for a visit. Every single year, he makes his rounds to American shopping malls so little kids (and adults– we’re guilty) can have an up-close-and-personal gift-begging session with the guy. The whole thing is pretty impressive if you think about it — even though he’s been on this gig for hundreds of years, Santa’s still a jolly old man. Although, lots of times his Christmas excitement ends up alarming tots, to the point where they usually start crying or screaming.

See, he doesn’t mean to scare the heck out of munchkins, but we also can’t blame kids for getting freaked out over a dude in a long white beard yelling “HO HO HO!” at them and smelling like reindeer soot. (Apparently Mrs. Clause isn’t around to wash his clothes when he’s on tour.) The result? Those pictures kiddies get at the mall with Santa end up documenting the ticked off or straight up terrified children.

Check out 15 kids who’d do anything to get off Santa’s lap.
