Even though his playing career hasn't ended, former Timberwolves star Kevin Garnett is already discussing post-retirement plans that include a return to the team that drafted him in 1995. Garnett told Yahoo Sports that he would like to one day own the Minnesota Timberwolves, foregoing the traditional coaching or managing path many players consider.

In an interview after a 107-99 loss to the Golden State Warriors, the Brooklyn Nets veteran said he would like to buy the Wolves. He offered the idea of putting together a group to make the purchase someday after his playing career is over.

Garnett's interest in purchasing the Timberwolves would reunite him with a team that he helped to eight consecutive playoff appearance before being traded to Boston. The team has not been back to the playoffs since.

Current team owner Glen Taylor might be happy to hear this news. In May, Taylor told the Associated Press he was looking to add a minority partner to the team's ownership that would have the option to buy out Taylor's stake. Considering Garnett has a rich history with the team and an understanding of what it takes to be successful in the NBA, he might be a good fit when he decides to retire from playing.
