Kenny Chesney Releases ‘The Big Revival’ Album Artwork
Kenny Chesney has already dropped his upcoming album’s first single and announced the release date. Now, he’s ready to share the album’s colorful artwork with his fans.
Monday (July 14), the star singer shared the photo of a brightly colored bus that will be the focal point of his album cover. The bus may even look familiar, since it made a cameo in the video for ‘American Kids.’
“That was the thing about the bus. It was so far beyond coloring outside the lines, yet what’s more common than a school bus? We’ve seen them our entire life,” Chesney explains. “Yet, when you look at that bus after we were done painting it, it was a whole new notion! That’s what I think everyone is striving for: be who you are, but be the person we dream, not end up.”
The bus became a work of art when it was painted in vivid color — Chesney even helped! He wanted it to represent the transportation to take people where they can feel alive and themselves.
“I wanted a cover that was surprising — that suggests anything is possible. No matter where you are in your life, how tired or lost or demoralized, with a little faith and a little help, anything’s possible,” he explains, “because it’s all within you. Or me.”
Chesney’s ‘American Kids’ from ‘The Big Revival’ has already topped the iTunes Country chart and spent weeks at the top of the Soundscan Digital Country Songs chart, proving that Chesney is in full force with his new record. The forthcoming album has taken him a lot of time and dedication, and really wanted to choose the perfect songs for it. He says it’s not the typical sound his fans are used to — it forces them to push themselves.
“I think that’s the thing about the songs on this record … about the attitude and energy in ‘American Kids’ … it’s not the same old,” Chesney says. “It’s not what you expect…It’s what can be. Asking ‘how far can you take it?,’ no, it’s ‘how far do you wanna take it?!’ To me, that’s what we sometimes lose sight of, not even how great this life is and can be, but all the things we don’t even consider — and that’s where the real thrill of being alive is.”
