Keith Urban is one of 10 country stars on the ‘Act of Valor’ soundtrack, available for purchase on Feb. 21. His song ‘For You’ is the lead track on the album and is available to preview now at iTunes.

The emotional ballad will play over the end credits. “And I wonder, would I give my life / Could I make that sacrifice / If it came down to it could I take the final move / Yes I would for you,” Urban sings through soaring background vocals.

The movie is unique because it relies upon actual Navy SEALs to tell the story of the team that works to save a kidnapped CIA agent. “I have to really thank Nic [wife Nicole Kidman] for really saying to me, ‘You should do this … you really should,’” Urban tells Taste of Country. He had never written a song for a soundtrack before, and he wasn’t sure if the timing would work as he was preparing for vocal cord surgery. The time crunch was stressful, but ultimately satisfying.

Urban says watching the film — which opens Feb. 24 — helped inspire him. Other artists included on the soundtrack include Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Trace Adkins and more. The album is made entirely of country songs. Hunter Hayes revealed his new song to fans last week during a show in New York City.
