Perhaps Kacey Musgraves should change her name to 'Barbara Ann,' because she just recorded with Brian Wilson, leader of the Beach Boys, for his new album.

The songstress excitedly tweeted the news, saying, "Had the recent honor of collaborating on a song with the legendary Brian Wilson's new record. Incredible experience!" In the photo, the two are sporting huge grins, and Wilson is wearing one of his trademark Hawaiian shirts.

Musgraves is providing vocals on 'Sharing a New Day,' one of the songs on Wilson's forthcoming album. In addition to the Grammy-winning country star, his website states that pop singer Lana Del Ray, Zooey Deschanel and Frank Ocean are also part of the project.

The album will be released by Capitol Records, and a street date has not yet been announced, although he tells Billboard he is hoping to finish the album "some time early next year, maybe." Adds the singer, "Most of it is very mellow kind of stuff, mellow harmony, not very much rock 'n' roll yet. It' a pretty unique album. It's very different than anything I've ever done."

Musgraves is no stranger in working with other genres. Her 'CMT Crossroads' episode with Katy Perry just aired, and she's heading out on the road for Perry's Prismatic World Tour come August.
