Jake Owen is celebrating a very successful album release. The singer's fifth studio record, American Love, has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart and at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

“What an awesome feeling to wake up and find out that American Love is the No. 1 country album,” Owen says in a press release. “And, I can’t believe that it debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart. That’s a first for me and I’m so pumped about that. I poured my heart and soul into making this album and I’m thrilled to know that people like it. We are forging ahead on this great journey. I love that so many people are on this path with me.”

Meanwhile, Owen's debut single "American Country Love Song" is currently No. 6 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck’s Mediabase charts. The singer also recently remade the song with Ronnie Dunn and says the collaboration was a dream come true.

The American Love album explores themes of love, but doesn't directly reference his relationship with his ex-wife Lacey, even if the track listing reflects the chronology of events of his personal life. It's an album for the optimist, not the brokenhearted, he tells Taste of Country.

“My parents have been married for 36 years. My grandparents have been married for 68 years," Owen says. "When I got married, that’s what I intended. It ended up not being the right thing, but that’s what I intended and that’s what I believe in.”

Dating, marriage and more kids are all possibilities for the singer, but right now he's focused on his music and his 3-year-old daughter, Pearl.
