After witnessing one of the worst performances imaginable by a professional kicker Sunday in Green Bay, the Vikings have officially signed Dan Bailey to replaced the recently released Daniel Carlson.

Rumors were already circulating that the former Dallas Cowboys standout would be signed this week by Minnesota, but that was pending him first passing a physical.

According to StarTribune.com, Bailey passed his physical Monday and he signed a one-year deal for $2 million, despite having multiyear offers from other teams for double the money.

It appears he's betting on himself to have a strong rest of the season in Minnesota, then cash in on a bigger and longer contract moving forwards.  Since Bailey is the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history, if he does return to form it would a wise decision for the Vikings to sign him long term.
