My country throwback this week features a band had a lot going for them.  They had good songs, good looks and an early top 10 hit.  The fact that they aren't still putting out the hits shows how tough the music industry can be.

The band is Sons Of The Desert, who formed in 1989.  Their first album featured their only top 10 hit, the title track 'Whatever Comes First'.  I always liked this song and it reminds me of successful groups today like Eli Young Band and Parmalee.

Sons Of The Desert ended up bouncing to different record labels over the years.  They did provide the backing vocals for Lee Ann Womack on the biggest hit of her career, "I Hope You Dance" in 2000.  Then, in 2001 they had their last top 30 hit with 'What I Did Right'.

But let's go back to 1997, when this song hit the top10 on the country music singles chart.
