I got this photo from a friend in Northwest Wisconsin.  He was heading out to his deer stand when he saw a truck had gone through the ice.  My first thought was, "Who the heck would be driving on that thin of ice this time of year?"

Turns out the pond was surrounded by tall grass coming through the snow and it could be easily mistaken as a field.  There was also a lack of cat tails around the edge, making it look very similar to a field or logging road.  Poor guy was probably just out trying to find some hunting area.

At least it wasn't a lake, and it appears no one was hurt.   Thanks to Tyler Kern for sharing the photo, and being a good enough guy to make sure no one was stuck inside.
