Today was "one of those days."  You know the kind of day- where things just don't seem to go right for you. At the risk of sounding like a whiner, I'll tell you about my day.  At this point all I can do is shrug my shoulders and chuckle. It started off actually last night with insomnia.  I'm not sure if it was stress or the fact that I fell asleep in my recliner yesterday afternoon for an hour.  Either way, I couldn't fall asleep last night.  It was probably about 1 o'clock before I dozed off.  Then it just got worse.About 2:30 in the morning I woke up to the sound of our son whimpering.  It was pretty windy outside and I assume that he was scared.  I totally understand a 3 year old being afraid at night with the howling wind and the branches smacking his window.  I calmed him down and made sure he fell back asleep.  Then I couldn't fall back asleep until about 3:30.  I slept another hour and had to get up for work.  So let's do the math together.  I got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep.  I finished my work at B105 and thought I could squeeze a nap in.  Whenever I really try to fall asleep, it never happens.  So I didn't get a nap.

The highlight of my day actually was going to Hoops For Hearts at Northwestern Middle School.  I spent the afternoon playing basketball with the rest of the celebrity team including Chris Allen.  It was fun.  Then I got home.  (Cue suspenseful music)

As we pulled up to the front of my house, I noticed a missing shingle on the roof.  Uh oh.  This roof is brand new, just being put on last summer by a lazy contractor.  I climbed up on the roof with 40mph winds and noticed a lot of things wrong with my roof.  The flashing was old and rusted (they cut corners and reused the old stuff).  The shingles were probably the cheapest quality you could find anywhere.  And not just one shingle blew off, but several.  Thanks for the wind mother nature.

So I ran to the hardware store to buy some materials to fix it.  Once I got back home my trash can and my recyclables container had blown over the alley.  I ran and chased garbage and beer cans for about a block.

I get inside my house and start assembling my tools and materials when I step in cat vomit.  Apparently our cat is a little stressed about the wind too.  I clean up the cat vomit and find another pile... with my foot again.  Ugh.

So I got the roof patched up for now.  I'm sitting down having a beer and writing this blog, when a hear a knock on the door.  I figured it was one of my friends that I've been expecting so I say "Come On In!"  I turn around and it's this stranger carrying a huge bag and saying he's here to do a chair massage.  What?  Am in the twilight zone?  I have no idea what is going on still.  Am I having a nervous breakdown?

Yes, it's definitely been one of those days.
