Is Anyone Else’s Spring & Summer Weekends Filled Up Before It Even Starts?

This time of year is tough man.   We've been waiting and waiting for summer.  We've made plans for camping, trips, work events on weekends (sadly), weddings, holidays, and everything before we even get to May.  Now it's not even summer yet, and the whole thing is booked up.  

I guess it's because our season is so short here in the Northland we need to cram everything in.  Weddings are the biggest culprit.  Throw three weddings into the summer and it takes up 30% of available summer weekend fun.  (Don't get me wrong, we are thrilled to be going to your wedding.)

Graduation parties eat up May and June.  Kiss those months goodbye.

Memorial Day, Labor Day, & 4th of July are already planned out.   Add Mother's Day, Fishing Opener, Grandma's Marathon Weekend... the list goes on!

Of course we can have fun and enjoy these weekends.  I guess I just miss the freedom of having a free summer weekend where we could go wherever and do whatever without a plan.   Maybe some day it will happen again.  But at this point in my life, it's absolutely hilarious when someone asks me if I'm free this weekend.
