We love Girl Scout Cookie season in the Northland.  Our local Girl Scouts do such a great job of making them available and they freeze very well!   We all have our favorite, mine is the..actually, I have three:  Tag-a-longs (peanut butter patties), Thin Mints and Carmel DeLites (samoas).  But, you may be interested to know there is a new cookie being introduced in 2013 that boasts "nutrients derived from fruits".

It's called, Mango Cremes with Nutrifusion.  It's described as a flavors of vanilla and coconut, filled with a tangy mango-flavored creme and has those all important nutrients derived from fruits.  Makes sense since most of us are all searching for that healthy food that tastes good too!

By the taste they've described, I think I would feel like I escaped to the island.  Plus, theres no trans fats, hydrogenated oils, or preservatives.

The crunchy cookies are packed with vitamins and have the nutrient benefits of eating cranberries, pomegranates, oranges, grapes, and strawberries!  That's a parent's dream to feed their children!  Here's how healthy they are:

  •    15% RDI (reference daily intake) of Vitamin B1 per serving
  •    5% RDI of Vitamins A, C, D, E, and B6 per serving
  •    Zero grams trans fats per serving
  •    No hydrogenated oils
  •    No preservatives

Remember, the Girl Scouts sell cookies to raise money, but more importantly, it is an experience that teaches them how to interact with the public and run their own business. You won't find Girl Scout cookies for sale on-line because they don't want to jeopardize this valuable teaching tool.

Can't wait to taste the new cookie flavor and of course, am looking forward to my old favorites too!  Thanks to the Girl Scouts for their cookies and to the Scout leaders and parents for their support!
