When you're boating this summer, remember that wearing a life jacket is a simple thing to do that can go a long way towards saving your life.  If you resist putting one on because you think you'll get too hot or they're too cumbersome, try an inflatable life jacket.

I wasn't familiar with inflatable life jackets until I saw the PSA below, produced by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.  It turns out that they are easy to wear and they are approved for boaters 16 and older.

Keep in mind that inflatable life jackets are only approved for boating and not for use on personal watercraft or while water-skiing or similar sports.
