It's been such a weird weather winter.  Not a lot of snow to the dismay of the snowmobile fans and any skier in the Northland.  For skaters it's been hit and miss too.  The warmer temps caused the Bayfront Family Center to close the ice rink.  There's good news and bad news, the good news, it's re-opened!  The bad news, not for long.

The press release that came out from Pakou Ly with the City of Duluth may have been premature based on the fact that we're suppose to get to 40 tomorrow, possibly warmer.  The Twin Cities are slated to be in the mid-50's!

The Bayfront Family Center ice rink had to close recently but will reopen this weekend for the last of it's season.  Here's the schedule if you want one more enchanting skate on an ice rink that envelopes you between Lake Superior and the city's hillside like the cream in the middle of an Oreo.

  • Tonight:  4-8 pm
  • Saturday:  1-8 pm
  • Sunday:  1-5 pm

I'm sure the city is hard at work planning several fun summer family activities and as soon as they share the schedule we'll be sure to pass it on to you.
