Minnesota Opener is this weekend, and anglers are hopefully waiting for ice to clear.  We've gathered some reports and some sources of information for you this morning.  Looks promising that fishing opener will happen!

The St. Louis River and bay are open, and have been for a while.

As of last night FISH Lake (Duluth Area) is open.

Rice Lake still has some ice, but is fishable.

Island Lake has some ice, but it is breaking up, and should be OK to fish by this Saturday.

Parts of Lake Vermilion are clear, such as Pike Bay.  Wolf Bay, and Head of The Lakes Bay still have ice, along with Wake Em Up Narrows.  However, the ice looks like it COULD clear by this weekend.  For up to the minute information on conditions you can visit the Lake Vermilion Webcams.

Bassett Lake is still frozen over North of Duluth.

Cole Lake in Wright, MN is open.

Long Lake in Twig had ice out earlier this week, it is clear.

Caribou Lake opened up this morning.
