In all my life, I've never found myself in the situation where I needed to call poison control.  I figured if I did it would always be because one of my kids ingested something they shouldn't,  not because of my own tired stupidity.

I've been taking 3-4 ibuprofen every 4-5 hours for the last few days because of some knee pain I've been having.  It gets the job done, and it's almost become second nature after a few days to grab the bottle and pop the pills.  I usually don't use pain relievers much, only when I REALLY need them.

One medication I take everyday is OTC Prilosec.   It's actually the generic brand of it, but if I say omeprozole, not many people know what I'm talking about.   Well, this morning I poured out a handful of those and threw them back and down they went.  I've been so used to pouring out 3-4 Advil that I did the same with my heartburn medicine.  I didn't even realize it until I got out into my car when I realized I made the mistake.

Now, my first though was no big deal.  But I went back and read the bottle.  It said to call poison control if you took too much of the medication.  So I went ahead, googled poison control and gave them a phone call.  I have to hand it to them.  One ring, and someone picked up and helped me out.  Turns out it's nothing to worry about, but it's good to know they are there and ready to help.
