I had the pleasure of working with Kaye Tenerelli for years and many of us can say that.  She always has a smile on her face and the best interest of the Superior businesses in the BID district on her mind.  While it's sad to know I won't be working with her anymore, the years of dedication I've witnessed warrants a very happy retirement!

Longevity is something to be commended and Kaye proved her staying power as she started with the BID in November of 1992.   This was a perfect job for Kaye as she obtained a BA in Business Administration from Ball State University and is the owner of Lidgerwood Corporation, also in Superior.

While we were promoting the Superior BID on B105 we always managed to have loads of fun.  Kaye was involved with the idea of a roving live broadcast during "Sweep the BID".  That had B105 broadcasting from several businesses serving doughnuts and Arco Coffee.  We actually got to pull the Arco parade float behind the B Van!

I was honored to emcee the Superior Business Awards luncheon at Barker's Island that recognized several individuals and their businesses for their tremendous service to the community.  We also were part of the holiday tree lighting and the October festivities now called the Superior Spooktacular.

Most recently you will hear (and see) me broadcasting from the Farmer's Market in the parking lot near the Superior Public Library in Center City Park on Wednesdays, 11a-2p.  I always enjoy working with Kaye's right-hand gal, Jodi Rochon.

Kaye has been a staple in our community serving on several past boards:

  • Challenge Center
  • Catholic Charities
  • YMCA of Superior Douglas County
  • Cathedral School
  • St. Albans Church
  • Superior Public Library
  • United Way
  • Duluth Superior Symphony
  • Superior Days
  • Lucius Woods Performing Arts Board
  • University of Wisconsin, Superior Foundation Board
  • Superior Pubic Museums Board
  • APEX Board
  • Knight Rider Foundation Community Action Board (Duluth-Superior
  • Wisconsin Downtown Action Council
  • Northeast Entrepreneur Fund Board
  • Wisconsin Public Radio Association

Isn't that amazing?  She also has current board affiliations with:

  • Superior Optimist Club
  • CASDA
  • Superior Public Library
  • Member of the City of Superior’s Development Team

So, I'm sure we'll still see Kaye around the BID, but she might be followed around by one of her 8 grandchildren!  Enjoy your retirement, Kaye.  Thank you for trusting my professionalism and allowing me to represent the Superior BID.  You have been a friend and a mentor and you will be missed!
