Have you driven to Minneapolis this summer and been surprised to find hardly any road construction related delays?  Well, it looks like our luck is about to run out.

According the the Minnesota Department of Transportation, crews will start an I-35 resurfacing and rehabilitation project near Hinckley on September 8.  The project includes the area from one mile south of Hinckley to 1.5 miles north of the city..

Drivers in that area can expect daytime lane closures and delays. Also, the Highway 48 interchange ramps will close for up to 36 hours sometime during this project and motorists will be detoured during this time, which has yet to be determined.

On the positive side, the project does start after Labor Day weekend and work is expected to be completed by October 9.
