I-35 Mega Project Underway Again On Monday

April 4th, 2011 is the beginning of this year’s I-35 Mega Project. Like last year, we can expect at times 2 lane traffic through the interstate downtown. We shouldn’t feel the impact quite as much as we did last year, but there are other projects nearby this summer as well.
Sgt. Mark Baker from the MN State Patrol visited with us this morning about this years construction projects. Of course the biggest project locally is the I-35 Mega Project through Duluth. This year, the plan is to complete the huge project that began last year. Bridges will continue to be replaced, pavement will be replaced, and there will be work done at “the can of worms.”
Also this year there will be extensive construction from Duluth to White Bear Lake on I-35.
