Hunter Hayes has commented on his recently-announced Grammy nomination, calling it "one of the most exciting things that can happen in your career."

The singer-songwriter is nominated in the category of Best Country Solo Performance for 'Invisible,' the first single from his sophomore album, 'Storyline.' The song is an anthem for underdogs and outcasts everywhere, inspired by Hayes' own experiences being bullied in high school. He co-wrote the song with Bonnie Baker and Katrina Elam.

The honor marks Hayes' fifth career Grammy nomination, but it hasn't grown old.

"To be nominated for a Grammy is one of the most exciting things that can happen in your career,” he says in a press release. “For ‘Invisible’ to be nominated is so special for me and my co-writers and the phenomenal team who recorded this record. This is one of the happiest days of my career so far."

Hayes is currently on the road for his Tattoo (Your Name) Tour, with labelmates Dan + Shay and the Railers as his support acts. See a complete list of dates here.
