The Salvation Army locations across the Northland have their sites set on the upcoming holidays, but that hasn't stopped the Hibbing Salvation Army office from being stellar and earning an award from the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. Congratulations!

The Salvation Army in Hibbing is slated to receive the  “2015 Agency Partner of the Year” award from the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank in Duluth. Shaye Moris, Executive Director of Second Harvest says "when it comes to the Hibbing community, the Hibbing Salvation Army is the only game in town".  Through their partnership, 493,765 pounds of food was distributed last year.  That's amazing!

Deliveries arrive the first Wednesday and second Thursday of every month at the Hibbing Salvation Army by the pallet full. The 1 p.m. distributions are open to the public. Most of the community knows about the food deliveries thanks to the Hibbing Salvation Army’s Facebook page. The only catch is that nobody but Second Hand Harvest Northern Food Bank knows exactly what kind of food will be delivered.

Because of the community leadership, their continuing significant contribution and the strong partnership with Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank they will be awarded the “2015 Agency Partner of the Year”.

You are invited to the award ceremony at 2pm Friday, September 25 at the Second Harvest Location, 4503 Airpark Blvd. in Duluth.
