Last night I watched 2 full quarters of a football game that I cared nothing about, waiting for the Star Wars: Force Awakens Trailer at halftime.  After seeing it, I looked at my wife and I said, "look at my goosebumps!"  It was the best trailer yet, and I think I have a handle on what the movie is going to be roughly about.

Starting with the first trailer, we see Finn, (The stormtrooper in the desert) frightened in the desert.  Before his head pops into frame, you hear "There has been an awakening, do you feel it?"  Whoever that is is on the dark side, (Kylo Ren?), is searching to hunt out and finish what Vader started.  Which is crushing any remaining Jedi of the Rebellion, or whoever is with them.  The title is the "Force Awakens" and it will continue with the balance of the force.

I think Finn is the one with the force powers who will train to become a Jedi.  After crash landing on the desert planet (which is not Tatooine), he meets up with scavenger Rey (the chick).  She and him join forces and eventually find their way to Han Solo as you see them on the Millennium Falcon with him.  Han Solo will be a guide in this new chapter much like Obi Wan Kenobi was in episode 4.  I fully expect Han Solo to die in this film, in fact I will be surprised if he doesn't.

Rey very well could be a Jedi in training as well.

We haven't seen much of Luke in the trailers, and I think that's because he will enter late.  He may be the last Jedi left, and I'm guessing he will have to do something with training Finn.  Once again, much like Yoda in Empire Strikes back.   I wouldn't be surprised to see some of these correlations;  the original cast stepping into their new roles as mentors.

There is another Death Star.  You can see it in the latest poster.  I would be surprised to see the film once again focus on the destruction of it.  I imagine it as just another weapon/ base that the empire has.

There are still a lot of holes in the plot, and I could very well have gotten all of this wrong.  The X Wing Pilot Poe Dameron obviously will be a part of the resistance, but there are few clues to what his character's story will be.  Also Lupito Nyong'o's character Maz Kanata is a total mystery.

Who else is having a hard time waiting for December!?
