I had a friend suggest that I try grilling a ham.  I had never even thought of it, but it's a nice change of pace for your late summer grilling.   In our house we grill several times a week, so by the time we get to August we are ready to change it up from burgers and brats.  The grilled ham was easy and didn't take all day.

The recipe I followed called for you to start with a cured or already smoked ham.  That's why some people call grilling a ham, "double smoked" ham.   If you were to use a fresh ham, the cooking process would be different, and frankly more dangerous.

I took a 9 pound ham that came with it's own glaze seasoning.  I set up a pan of water underneath it, surrounded by charcoal on both sides and grilled it at 325 degrees for 15 minutes a pound.  Once the ham reached 130 degrees I applied the glaze.

It took about 2 1/2 hours for it to be done, and man was it good!  I totally recommend it.
