Yay!  This contest always means Spring is near!!!  Think back to mid-January, the Paul R. Tregurtha was the last ship to sale under the Aerial Lift Bridge to end the shipping season. It was an amazing 46th visit of the season for the Tregurtha.  , as she was the last vessel to come under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge this season.   Let's have a little competition with the first ship of the season in 2016!

Visit Duluth and the Duluth Seaway Port Authority have a cache of fantastic prizes to give away to the person, 18 years or older, who can predict the exact date and time the very first ocean-going vessel, also known as a saltie, will sail into Canal Park underneath the Aerial Bridge.  Do you have a feeling?  If so, click below to make your guess to win a hotel stay, free dining and passes to several of our local attractions like Glensheen, the Lake Superior Zoo, Vista Fleet and many more!

Maybe this will help you make your guess.  According to records, the earliest a saltie has ever arrived in the Duluth-Superior Port takes us back to the end of March in 2013.  But remember, it's been a VERY mild winter.

All it takes is your best guess and a little luck!
