Although we have yet to experience 2018 Grandma's Marathon weekend, registration dates were released today for the 2019 races.

Registration for the 2019 Grandma’s Marathon Weekend, which includes Grandma’s Marathon, the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the William A. Irvin 5K, will open on October 1, 2018. This is the third year that registration for all three races will open on the same day, and entries will be taken online on a first come, first registered basis until the each race is full.

The 43rd Annual Grandma’s Marathon is limited to 9,000 participants, the 29th Annual Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon is limited to 7,500 participants, and the 26th Annual William A. Irvin 5K is limited to the first 2,000 participants.

If you aren't participating in any Grandma's Marathon races this year, but find that the excitement surrounding them is getting you motivated to give one of them a try next year, then putting the October 1 registration date as a reminder on your calendar is a great first step.

If you want to do even more, registration will also open on that date for the Great Grandma's Challenge, which pairs the 5K with either the full or the half marathon.  The Great Grandma's Challenge is open to the first 500 registrants.

Next year's Grandma's Marathon weekend is scheduled for June 21 - June 22, 2019.
