The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northland is celebrating the Grand Re-opening of the Gymnasium at its Lincoln Park Branch Club, 2407 West Fourth Street, on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 5 pm to 7 pm. Club members, staff, parents, and community members are invited to see the newly renovated gymnasium and enjoy grand re-opening festivities.

Festivities include the UMD Men’s Basketball team conducting a clinic for club members earlier in the afternoon followed by a free throw contest at 5:30 pm featuring Mayor Don Ness, UMD Assistant Athletic Director Karen Stromme, Dave Goldberg, and the Club’s Chief Professional Officer, Todd Johnson.  Following the free throw contest, the Buffalo Wild Wings Team Up For Youth basketball team comprised of Lincoln Park Branch members are challenging the Club’s Board of Directors to a basketball game.  Refreshments, provided by Buffalo Wild Wings, will be served from 5 to 6 pm.

Renovations including a refinished gymnasium floor, bleacher removal, and freshly painted walls were made possible by a generous contribution from Dave and Lisa Goldberg.  The Goldbergs have a long history of supporting the Boys & Girls Club. In 2008 they provided the funding for a Boys & Girls Club at Duluth’s Heritage Sports Center.
