You just can’t have Ghostbusters without proton packs, and that’s science fact. The first trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters did feature a brief shot of the eponymous heroes using their packs, but if you want a better look (and you totally do), this new photo from the upcoming film shows the full potential of that handy ghost-bustin’ tool. It’s so bright you might need shades just to look at the photo.

Empire debuted the new still from Ghostbusters, which features stars Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones firing their proton packs at an unseen entity. The scene takes place during a rock concert, with the unlikely heroes battling a winged demon. Sure, the discharge from the packs looks really awesome, but take note of the expressions on each of their faces — McCarthy looks confident, McKinnon is Pumped with a capital P, Wiig looks terrified out of her mind and Jones means business. Even in a still photograph (click for the full, high-res version), you get a sense of who these women are:

Wiig plays Erin Gilbert, a particle physicist who co-wrote a book on the paranormal with her friend and fellow scientist Abby Yates, played by McCarthy. Now the laughing stock of the science community, the pair team up with nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann (McKinnon) and an MTA worker named Patty Tolman (Jones) to save New York City when it’s invaded by ghosts.

The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as their secretary, with Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Andy Garcia and Matt Walsh in supporting roles, and Neil Casey as the villain. Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15.
