Being from Minnesota and having stood in lines at the DMV, I couldn't believe my eyes.  While visiting my sister who lives in the state of Wisconsin I ran across the Wisconsin E-Z Tab machine at a grocery store.  Wait, what....a vending machine that gives you your license tabs?  Wow, that makes life easier doesn't it?  Now you can put it on your grocery list:  milk, eggs, sugar and tabs for your vehicle.

Yup, right there near the exit of the grocery store nestled in between the claw game, soda machine and free publications was a machine you can renew your vehicle tabs.  No driving to a separate destination and standing in line.  How convenient for people who work during the day and can't get to the DMV during the hours their open.  This machine is placed in locations that are open 24 hours, 7 days a week.

According to their website, you only need your license plate number and the last four digits of your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number).  Metaphorically, it's like the social security number for that vehicle.  I've always found my VIN number on the driver's side corner of the dashboard where it meets the windshield, but you have to stand on the outside of the vehicle to get it accurately otherwise it's upside down.  If you don't find it there, my hubby says it can sometimes be located on the driver's side door edge.

The kicker is, according to their E-Z tab location map, there isn't one in Douglas County.
