My husband and I have often thought about selling our egg rolls.  Everyone that has tasted them says we should.  Hey, we have retirement to think about!  But, we know there is laws in place for where and how we make the food we sell.  The Duluth Workforce Center is helping with some of what we need to do to get us one step closer and the classes are free!

The classes aren't just for people who are looking to get certified to own their own food business, but also for those that are interested in working in the food industry.  Thanks to the Duluth Workforce Center, the Minnesota Workforce Center and the National Restaurant
Association there are now classes available to train you on rules and regulation you need to know if you want to manage food safety in commercial kitchens.  They're called  ServSafe classes and they're offering them for FREE!  If you pass the test after taking the call you will receive a Servsafe Certificate which will make you more marketable to restaurants.

They are multi-day classes that will begin November 2 and run from 1-4 PM each day.

Classes are offered:
November 2, 3, 4, 5
November 9, 10, 12
November 16, 17, 19
All from 1—4 p.m.  If you need tutoring support, that is offered from 12-1 p.m.
It's held at the Duluth Workforce Center, 402 West 1st Street, but you need to call to register at 218 - 302-8400.  We might see you there!
