It's been more than 20 years since the fictional Tanner family occupied one of San Francisco's Painted Ladies on Full House, but when the show returns as Netflix series Fuller House next month, the stars insist it will seem like no time has passed at all.

In a preview of PEOPLE's upcoming Fuller House feature, Dave Coulier says reuniting with the cast on set — which looks nearly identical to its predecessor — really threw him for a loop. The magazine also offers the first exclusive look at the entire Fuller House cast, including the kids.

"It's surreal being back," the actor, who plays comic Joey Gladstone, says in the issue, which hits newsstands on Friday (January 8). "It's like moving out of your house when you're a kid and then you move back in. It shouldn't be this much fun."

John Stamos, who plays the tough-yet-sensitive Uncle Jesse, echoes the sentiment, and says the seamless chemistry between the cast has always been rooted in something real.

"We never stopped loving each other," he gushes. "That magic you saw? It's still there because it never stopped from the day that we ended the show."

And the love is evident from behind the scenes, too.

"I've never seen a cast bond like this," show creator Jeff Franklin says. "It feels like a real family."

Hang tight for the FULL feature, which will include more exclusive photos — and be sure to catch Fuller House on February 26 on Netflix!
