DON'T flush your old medications down the toilet!  That's how it gets into our water supply and affects plants, fish and other aquatic animals.  According to our partners at the Northland's News Center, you can drop them off at WLSSD  today for FREE!

"Medicine Cabinet Clean-Out Day" is a day that the Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (WLSSD) hosts.  It's a free collection event for unwanted or expired medications with hopes that this will keep those contaminants out of our water and soil.

The event will be held at the regional Household Hazardous Waste Facility,  2626 Courtland Street in Duluth today from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This one day event will offer residents free disposal of unwanted medications in a safe environment.

Residents may bring their own, or a family member's unwanted or expired medication to the waste facility for a free, confidential disposal.

This is the best way to get unwanted items out of your home  to protect your family and pets from accidental ingestion and misuse or abuse of the items.
