History repeats itself, to a point.  The picture left is of a very good friend, Mary Jezierski.  She is a Northland girl, graduated from Proctor, attended UMD and worked as a reporter at the now Northland's Newscenter.  She lives in New York and we were able to speak to her Tuesday morning after Hurricane Sandy had hit the coast.

To set the stage, Mary was living in New York on September 11, 2001.  She was at work when the first World Trade Center collapsed and called B105 to see if we were getting reports about it through our wire service.  She TOLD us the second plane had flown over her office building as we were watching it hit the second tower.

She had moved to Spain and was abroad for several years, recently making her way back to New York.  Unlike our confused conversation filled with disbelief in 2001, this conversation (I am happy to say), has Mary in a much safer place.  However, I'm sure she, as all victims of the Superstorm Sandy, will have a lot of trials in the next few days.

Thinking of you Mary, and all those affected by the storm.  Praying for normalcy in your lives soon!!
