I remember it was a book I couldn't put down.  The 1979 novel by V. C. Andrews, Flowers in the Attic.  One movie was filmed in 1987 pertaining to the story, now  footage of Lifetime’s forthcoming TV movie Flowers in the Attic has been leaked onto the internet causing a stir among fans like me.

It is the first in a series that we read, followed by Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows. It was uniquely written in first person from the point of view of Cathy Dollanganger and sold over 40 million copies.

It's an all-star cast including Heather Graham, Ellen Burstyn, Kiernan Shipka, Mason Dye and Dylan Bruce and is set to premiere on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 8p.

If you haven't stumbled upon the riveting series, Flowers in the Attic is the gothic tale of four siblings who are locked away to live in an attic after a family tragedy suddenly removes them from their perfect childhood.

Lifetime has managed to evade the three minute teaser for the movie that was leaked this week, but you can still view the official trailer.  I'm sure it will bring back memories of reading the book in the late 70's when I read the book wide eyed and anticipating every page turn.  Did you read the series too?
