February Rain Causes Some Unexpected Problems With Flooding

I knew there was rain in the forecast and worry a whole lot about it.  That was until I heard my sump pump kick on in the basement and running like crazy yesterday afternoon.   I went downstairs in the basement and saw puddles of water pouring in from the foundation.  All of this, in FEBRUARY?

With the ground still somewhat frozen, that rain had nowhere to go except pool up around my house.  We still have standing water in the backyard.  I hope some of it eventually soaks into the ground before we have a freeze.  Otherwise, we'll have our own skating rink.

Seeing people wearing rain coats and umbrellas is not exactly normal around here on February 20th.  Usually I'm shoveling out our driveway, not shop vacuuming up water in the basement.

What do you think of this crazy weather?   Is it global warming?
