Additional Information

The University of Wisconsin - Superior will be hosting the third in a series of exhibits created by Soka Gakkai International-USA (SGI-USA) addressing themes of peace, culture, and education. This year's exhibit, “Building a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World,” will be on display April 3, 2017 – April 13, 2017 in Swenson Hall.

Students, faculty, staff, and the public are encouraged to attend. With the use of vivid imagery, the exhibit leads guests through 30 panels focused on finding a lasting path to peace in the world and the role all of us play in its establishment. The themes of the exhibit are designed to deepen critical thinking and promote dialogue.

Class tours of the exhibit can be scheduled any time during this two week period.

Other free and public events during this time will include:

The exhibit opening keynote address on April 3, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Erlenbach Lecture Hall, featuring music from the Superior Community Youth Choir.
An educational display to help PK-16 instructors in all academic areas integrate ACT 31 into their curriculum. Act 31 addresses the history, culture, and tribal sovereignty of the federally recognized American Indian tribes and bands in Wisconsin.

This display will run April 3, 2017 – April 7, 2017 in Swenson Hall 2045. For more information about the exhibit or to request a class tour, contact Ms. Lisa Mattsson or Danielle Fagen.
