Drop your whisks, grab your friends, and join us for a day of fun at the Taste of Home Cooking School show, presented live by B105, MIX 108, KOOL 101.7, ESPN 560 WEBC, Wal-Mart, and Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC at the Otter Creek Convention Center at Black Bear Casino on Saturday, October 22, 2011.

During this interactive event, you’ll watch top culinary expert, Karen Davis, demonstrate new recipes you can easily recreate in your home. Armed with new culinary tips and techniques, you’ll be sure to impress your family and friends with these sophisticated yet surprisingly easy-to-make dishes. Along with a fun and informative show from Karen, you'll also have the opportunity to sample the goods of area vendors and the chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes including new appliances and more!

Tickets

Tickets are currently on sale! There are only a limited number of both premium and general admission tickets, so be sure to get yours before they run out! You can purchase premium tickets only in person at our offices at 14 East Central Entrance in Duluth during regular business hours. General admission tickets are available online 24 hours a day (see below for details), as well as in person or over the phone (see details below) during regular business hours. Cash and credit card will be accepted for payment. Courtesy of Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC, a portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Courage Center of Duluth Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program for Children with Disabilities.

Premium Admission Tickets: $36 (includes tax & processing - cash & credit card payment only)

Premium admission tickets offer reserved, up-front seating where you are able to select your seat(s) from our seating chart and you are able to enter through a separate, no-wait entrance to the event - Along with admission to the show, you'll receive a gift bag stuffed with goodies from Taste of Home and our vendors.

General Admission Tickets: $16 (includes tax & processing - cash & credit card payment only)

General admission tickets offers open seating - Along with admission to the show, you'll receive a gift bag stuffed with goodies from Taste of Home and our vendors.

Online Ticket Purchasing: Only general admission tickets are available online. Payment will be processed online with credit card only. To purchase your tickets online, click the green button below. After you purchase your tickets, you'll be able to print them off to bring to the event.

 

Over the Phone Ticket Purchasing: Only general admission tickets are available over the phone. Payment will be processed over the phone by credit card only. Over the phone tickets will be available at our offices for pickup during regular business hours or a will-call booth at the event on October 22.

Karen Davis

Karen is one of nine culinary specialists with the Taste of Home Cooking School that tour the country providing exciting shows that offer great cooking tips, tricks, and recipes.

Karen primarily tours the Upper Midwest, serving Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. She has over 15 years of food marketing and education experience working for national food product and marketing companies and Taste of Home.

She currently resides in central Iowa with her husband. Karen graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa with a double major in Home Economics Education and Educational Services in Family and Consumer Sciences.

They will be providing all of the the groceries that will be used in cooking demonstrations from our Taste of Home Culinary Expert, Karen Davis. A portion of the proceeds for this year's show will be going to the Courage Center of Duluth, who offer a wide variety of recreational and competitive sports programs for youth, adults and families in northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. These activities enhance independence, improve self-confidence and encourage an active, healthy lifestyle for youth and adults with physical disabilities, and youth on the autism spectrum.
