Eli Young Band have officially begun shooting the music video for 'Say Goodnight,' the third single from the band's 'Life at Best' album -- and as drummer Chris Thompson reveals, the result will be unlike anything ever before seen on country music video channels.

"It's the very first ever sci-fi, country music video," Thompson spills to Taste of Country Nights radio host Jeremy Robinson in a recent chat. He laughs, but seems to be serious. "There's a love story, there's a robot and there's the Eli Young Band, what else do you need?" Thompson asks.

The band -- who are nominated for the Vocal Group of the Year award at the 2012 CMAs on Nov. 1 -- have a history of taking chances with their music videos. The clip for 'Crazy Girl' was a love story told through a psychiatric ward. That song became a platinum-selling single and picked up the Song of the Year award at the 2012 ACM Awards in Las Vegas. The quartet has also been nominated for the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at the 2012 American Country Awards.

Thompson says he and his EYB bandmates are currently filming the video for 'Say Goodnight' in their hometown of Dallas, Texas, but they'll soon be back on the road playing clubs across the southeast, and then the northeast, with stops scheduled through November.
