It's a healthy alternative to deep frying potatoes.  Oven fries from Taste of Home!  They are more heart healthy because they're baked.  Plus, you can spice them up any way you wish.  Sea salt, garlic powder, chili powder or you can do what we do in our family.  We use flavored popcorn salt!  Who wouldn't want a side of ranch flavored oven fries with that juicy turkey burger!

Here is the original recipe with paprika and garlic, but you can make em' your own by spicing as you please!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

MAKE AND BAKE IT:

Preheat your oven to 400°. I use bakers so they are crisp and robust.  Try to cut each potato into 12 wedges. You won't get 12 pieces every time because of the difference in size, but you'll do better if they are cut a little thicker.  Use a large bowl to mix your oil, paprika, salt and garlic powder. Or, whatever flavorings you choose.   Add your potato wedges and toss to coat.

2. I like to line my pan with tin foil for easier clean up afterwards.  They should be in a single layer so I use a 15x10x1-in. baking pan and coat my tin foil cooking spray. Bake 40-45 minutes or until tender, turning once.
