Duluth Woman Training For Half Marathon Has Baby Minutes After Being Told She’s Pregnant

Trish Staine, 33, of Duluth got the biggest surprise early this week. Having not gained any weight and her cycle never changed, she knew she was uncomfortable and having back pain. Having a baby, nope! She continued to training, after all, she’s not pregnant, in fact, that was the last thing she thought.

Here’s the story she told Renee Passal a local reporter for WDIO,  “I had a sore back Sunday evening. I had taken a hot shower and was dealing with it,” Staine said. “Monday morning, I woke up and had more back pain, and as the day went on it got worse. I thought I should go to the ER. I thought I ruptured a disc or pulled a muscle.” Then she watched She was talking to her husband on the phone and said the paine was overwhelming, Staine said her pain was becoming unbearable. Her husband called an ambulance.

According to Passal and the Associated Press, Trish goes on to say During the emergency room examination, She and her husband were stunned to learn medical staff had detected a fetal heartbeat. She was whisked to the delivery room and in what she said seemed like 5 minutes later, her daughter was born at 3:25 p.m. Monday. She weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 18.9 inches long.

Now she says she has a whole shift in her life and has a lot of baby shopping to do, but is happy, now she has another girl to even things out. By the way,they named her Mira for “Miracle”.
